Unsurpassed Corrosion Resistance:
The aluminized steel tubing is heat treated up to 1400°F where
the aluminum coating (supplied by aluminized steel) is fused into the tubing. The heat
treating process forms a homogenous layer of iron-aluminum (Fe-Al), which is
extremely oxidization resistant.
Higher Operating Temperatures:
This protective coating of the homogeneous alloy (Fe-Al) can withstand higher
operating temperatures than other conventional tube materials (as certified by Armco
Research and Technology Laboratories). The maximum operating emitter tube
temperature is 1250°F.
Higher Surface Emissivity:
An additional benefit of the heat treating process is a greatly enhanced external surface
emissivity as well as improved internal surface absorptivity.
CNG Rated Tube Heaters
As more vehicles are manufactured to operate or fueled with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and LNG (Liquid Natural Gas), federal code mandate a low emitter temperature on gas fired infrared tube heaters of 750 F for heaters installed in these facilities. The code is NFPA10A - Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages.
. The NFPA30A "...where major repairs are conducted on CNG or LNG fueled vehicles, open flame heaters or heating equipment with surfaces having a temperature in excess of 750oF shall not be permitted"
